There was a time when the family celebrated Super Bowl Sunday.
We had parties or we went to parties.
We had favorite teams.
We lived for the halftime show.
We laughed at the commercials until our sides hurt.
Our hometown of Jacksonville, FL hosted Super Bowl XXXIX on February 6, 2005. The New England Patriots played the Philadelphia Eagles and the Patriots won 24-21.
Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush were there.
A combined military choir brought the house down with our National Anthem.
So did the Navy flyover!
Paul McCarthy performed at halftime. One of the BEST performances ever!
Sadly, those days are gone.
We won’t be watching the game this Sunday.
No more halftime shows.
No more commercials.
The woke ideology of the NFL has sucked the joy out of Super Bowl Sunday!
