Softly

Softly, gently as you sleep,
I place my hand upon your cheek.
Your skin is sweet and ever so fair,
My fingers lightly touch your hair.

It won’t be long my darling one,
Until you’re gone and I’m alone.
I love you now and always will,
My sweetest, dearest one of all.

I pray your dreams come true, my love,
You always give me hope for mine.
You are the blessing of my life,
The best of me is all of you.

Crazy

I met some people along the way
Crazy as the night and day
They twisted truths to meet their needs
Then shared their lies and dirty deeds

They cried to anyone who’d listened
Then turned their truths as swords against them
There are no questions to be asked
Actions answered all at last
